Heat treating is critical for high quality aerospace and defense components.The process of heat treating is the application of heating and cooling to alter the metallurgical properties of a metal component. The treatment is applied to harden, soften, or relieve stress in metal without changing the part dimensions.

In the aerospace industry, heat treatment on metal parts is critical to enhance component strength and improve fatigue life enabling components to endure the extreme demands of aerospace and defense applications.Whilst machining processes are seen as the key to aerospace and defense component manufacturing, the components cannot be utilized in service until they undergo stringent heat treatment processes.
